After a couple of abortive attempts to hold our annual village walk, we finally have a date for the diary! As you can see, the walk will take place on Sunday the 29th of March, with a format similar to previous years. So, that means meeting at the Cottage of Content at 9.30am for a bacon buttie, after which we will aim to set off at around 10am.
It’s a circular easy walk along good footpaths, tracks and quiet country lanes from Dorsington to Welford and back to Dorsington. The walk will start from St Peter’s Church in Dorsington, and there is limited parking by the road side. We’d suggest that as many people as possible try and share lifts up to the church so we can all squeeze in!
The walk is approximately four miles in length, and if anyone did not want to walk the full distance they should arrange to park a car in Headland Road Welford. (Which is more or less half distance.)
As ever, the plan is to return to the pub afterwards for well deserved refreshments, and it would be great to see as many people there as possible.
We do ask for a small contribution to the BVF coffers of £2.50 per adult, and please feel free to bring any family and friends, whether on two legs or four!
A big ‘thank you’ to Julia and Denise for getting the route sorted out, which due to mud, obstructions and general struggles against inclement weather has not been an easy process this time around!
